This face is somewhat typical of Chip's pastels of faces,
but this is just one example of his many subject matters. As many expressionist artists, he communicates a sense of emotion using discrete patches of color. |
Expressionist Artist Chip Myers
Chip Myers is a self-confessed expressionist artist, who Zoltan Hegyes proclaimed a neo-expressionist in his 1996 Artspeak article describing his work.
He has exhibited in many of the best galleries in his home state and has exhibited in New York City 4 times, including a solo debut in the Myung Sook Lee Gallery. Shortly before this, Mr. Myers was published in a juried book The Best of Oil Painting by Rockport Press. After his first New York exhibition, Mr. Myers was published in numerous scholarly journals. He has been featured in a half page ad in Artnews by the Myung Sook Lee Gallery, and, as mentioned above, he was reviewed by Artspeak in relation to this show. Chip has been in Directart magazine 4 times. Chip has also been in Artispectrum twice during the year he was represented by the Agora Gallery. Chip Myers is in the Who's Who in the Arts by Marquis Books. He is now living in South Carolina and is very happy. |
